Yes! Personal and self-growth is important, especially for a therapist. Being a therapist is rewarding and challenging and it is important that a therapist can hold space without becoming activated in session.
We all have our parts that feel when hearing other people's stories and ensuring that your therapist has an outlet to talk about this as well as healing the parts that are activated to ensure that their wounds are not entering the therapy room with you.
After all, how can we enter the room without knowing what it feels like? Therapists are human too and thus, having our own therapy is important.
